1.
2. Twenties still sport the face of former president Andrew Jackson, but in November about 915 million new, more colorful $20 bills will be put into circulation. The bills, which entered U.S. banks Thursday, were redesigned with a subtle pink, green and blue background to thwart high-tech counterfeiters.
3. According to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, which has been printing U.S. currency since 1862, if you had 10 billion $1 bills and spent one every second of every day, it would take 317 years for you to go broke.
4. What's the word on the C-note? A century is 100 years, right? A C-note is $100.
5. Numismatics is the study and collection of money and medals.
6. Some money will never line your pockets. E-money, or electronic money (also called "digital cash"), is intangible money that exists only as entries in bank records. Ever buy something online? That's using electronic commerce. Without actually handing over your payment, a series of encrypted codes, such as credit-card numbers, pay the cost.
7. The $2 bill originated in 1776, during the Revolutionary War, when the Continental Congress authorized those bills as "credit for the defense of America." About 49,000 bills worth $2 were printed. The latest printing of the $2 bill was in 1996.
8. According to the Federal Reserve the life span of a $1 bill is 22 months, a $5 bill is 16 months, a $10 bill is 18 months, a $20 bill is two years, a $50 bill is five years and a $100 bill should last eight and a half years.
9. Slang terms for money include bacon, beans, benjamins, bits, bones, bread, cheddar, cheese, cream, dead presidents, dividends, greenbacks, loot and moola . . . sometimes spelled moolah, but it disappears quickly no matter how you spell it.

in 1609 children's nursery rhyme THREE BLIND MICE was published in London, England.

in 1492 Italian explorer CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS arrived with his expedition in the present-day Bahamas.

"

"The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the
man who can't read them."
                              - Mark Twain

Plagued by poor hearing, inventor Thomas Edison proposed to his
future wife in Morse Code.  She replied, "Yes" the same way.

"A person reveals his character by nothing so clearly
as the joke he resents."
    - G. C. Lichtenberg

Q:  What is the significance of the following words:  Wolf, Snow,
Worm, Pink, Flower, Strawberry, Buck, Sturgeon, Harvest, Hunter's,
Beaver, Cold?
A:  According to the FARMERS' ALMANAC, they are the traditional
names of the 12 full moons.

"The man with a new idea is a crank.  Until the idea succeeds."
-- Mark Twain

Making the decision to have a child - it's momentous. It is to decide
forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.

-- Elizabeth Stone

Pain nourishes courage. You can't be brave if you've only had
wonderful things happen to you.

-- Mary Tyler Moore (1937-) American Actress

Be of good cheer. Do not think of today's failures, but of the
success that may come tomorrow. You have set yourselves a difficult
task, but you will succeed if you persevere; and you will find a joy
in overcoming obstacles.

-- Helen Keller (1880-1968) American Writer

Not a day passes over this earth but men and women of note do great
deeds, speak great words and suffer noble sorrows.

-- Charles Reed

Tis the business of little minds to shrink, but he whose heart is
firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his
principles unto death.

-- Thomas Paine (1737-1809) British-American Writer

Failure is only postponed success as long as courage "coaches"
ambition. The habit of persistence is the habit of victory.

-- Herbert Kaufman

When we tire of well-worn ways, we seek for new. This restless
craving in the souls of men spurs them to climb, and to seek the
mountain view.

-- Ella Wheeler Wilcox

To fulfill a dream, to be allowed to sweat over lonely labor, to be
given a chance to create, is the meat and potatoes of life. The money
is the gravy.

-- Bette Davis (1908-1989) American Actress
