This summer two independent research groups came to the same conclusion.
About 7 million people became victims of identity theft. That represents an increase of about 80%
from the previous year. This is the home page of the Identity Theft Resource Center
a nationwide nonprofit organization dedicated to developing and implementing a
comprehensive program against identity theft by supporting victims, broadening public awareness,
disseminating information about this crime and decreasing the potential victim population.
